Writer’s Choice: Grammar and Composition, Grade 11. New York: Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, 2000.   ISBN: 0078226600

In addition to the textbooks, you will need a dictionary.

Course Description:

This course is the equivalent to the first semester of eleventh-grade English. This course will consist of longer and more complex writing assignments than in tenth-grade English, effective use of sentences, selections from the writings of well-known American authors from the seventeenth century to the end of the nineteenth century, and important concepts used in analyzing literary works.   As a continuation of English III first semester, the second semester is the equivalent to the second semester of eleventh-grade English. This course addresses the main types of twentieth-century American literature; the short story, poetry, essay, biography, and drama.
