Course Description:

This is the required Health Education course mandated by the Louisiana Department of Education. This course will provide the student with the necessary skills to become a health-literate consumer. This course will cover the three aspects of health and the five areas of health related fitness. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of proper nutrition, mental health and wellness, violence and violence prevention, diseases, and disabilities. The course will also address the effects of alcohol, tobacco, prescription medication and illicit drugs on the human body.
