Geometry S2 (#428)


The course is based on the Prentice Hall Geometry textbook (New York Edition, Copyright 2015).  For this course you do not need to purchase a textbook.  With the $35 online fee, you have access to the online textbook while taking the course.

Course Description:

Math 428 is the continuation of the Geometry course.  In this second semester, you will cover the material in the remaining six chapters of the textbook.  You will begin with ratios and proportions as it pertains to similar polygons.  You will study similar triangles, proofs with similar triangles as well as similarity in right triangles.  The course continues with the beginning studies of right triangle trigonometry.  You will learn the different types of transformations.  The last part of the course will help you to understand how to find the perimeter and area of various polygons, similar figures and circles and sectors.  The final lesson is all about circles.  Key topics include tangents, chords, arcs and inscribed angles.
