Course Description:

This course is designed to build on your skills from Algebra I.  The topics covered in Math 433 correspond to the basic topics in a high school Algebra II course for the first semester.  The course will help you to develop your skills in evaluating expressions, solving equations and solving inequalities.   The first semester topics include functions and graphs. Students will solve systems of linear equations using various methods (graphing, substitution, and combination).  The second half of the course covers quadratic functions and equations, polynomial functions and equations as well as radical functions.  These topics, covering the first six chapters of the textbook, will prepare students for the second semester of the Algebra II course.  It is also important to note that your knowledge and comprehension of these topics are important for your successful performance on the ACT as well as some college mathematics entrance exams.
