Course Description:

This course provides continued instruction in the topics of algebra.  The two semesters of Algebra III include topics of complex numbers, factoring and solving quadratic equations, quadratic functions and their graphs, zeros and factors of polynomials, graphing maximum and minimum values of polynomial functions, function notation, integral exponents and rational exponents, growth and decay.  Logarithmic functions and laws of logarithms are also covered in the first semester.  The second semester is devoted to topics in trigonometry:  Measurement of angles, sectors of circles, sine, cosine and other trigonometric functions and their inverse functions.  Students will learn the graphs of the trigonometric functions and the relations among functions and solving equations.
