Course Description:

This first semester course covers concepts concerning ecosystems; their functions, stability, and evolution; human population issues; importance and management of resources.  The second  semester topics include sources, effects, and control procedures for the major kinds of pollutants; emphasis is placed on Louisiana’s concerns, environmental decision making, risk assessment, toxins and environmental health.
